Master Cylinder leaking

We have a 2002 Safari 40ft motorhome diesel pusher with an 8.3L Cummins.
We have discovered that the left master cylinder is leaking. My other half just wants to replace the master cylinder, I'm thinking that we should replace the master cylinder and the chamber as well. I have done some researching on the web, and I have a guy at a truck shop helping me on this. But here's what I'm running into. Not able to find a correct part number, would like to replace with an OEM part, but not break the bank either.

My bf says it's a Spartan chassis, but with the vin# it's a Roadmaster Blue Streak.
So... on the Chamber it's a type 30 #N30169 E 451R, the band clamp reads N20163 E, the casting number on the Master cylinder is 045; that is all I can read on it. We took it apart and measure the bore, which was 1.5. I do not know if the piston is flat or not.

I have looked at Powerbrake_drivetrain.com and Anything Truck.com, and Automotive brake and clutch.com to the point I was mentally exhausted on the size's, bores, length, pressure.

I have attached a picture, as you can see the left is leaking. has anyone run into this, and is so, where did you go to get the part.

Hello from Dan kb7uxe.
Several years ago, our 94 Winnabago Vectra needed master cylinders rebuilt and hoses replaced. we found a nearby shop that custom made steel braded hoses for us, but i could only find 1 shop that would repair the master cylinders.

to
Precission Rebuilders
Attn Tim Henderson . 1-800-325-2690
350 north commercial ave
St Clair Mo 63077

They seemed to know the parts well, knew what would be needed.
They did the work, shipped them back. less than a week.

due to law suits no one would touch them, only sell you new ones.
this guy said screw them *&^^(^ !!! I'll fix 'em !!!!
New ones were $600+ ea, he fixed them both under $300.... :-)

Hope this helps.

I don't see leaking. I see paint missing, and dirt build up. Paint missing could be from brake fluid, but have you tried to fill those? if the cap is on top, and not a remote reservoir, then it's not that hard to spill fluid trying to fill it. The dirt doesn't look damp like I'd expect with brake fluid leaking actively.

If you do have fluid leaking, then one option, if you can't find replacements, is buying NOS parts and swapping the seals. Summit racing has an excellent search tool for finding cylinders by bore diameter, those numbers can be used to locate other possible matches.

Oh, it's leaking. From the picture it does look like what you are saying, but when you place your hands on it, they are greasy. The one on the right is not leaking.

I have not check for a remote location for the reservoir, just doing what I'm told..lol. But I understand what you are saying. Chambers are easy to replace; I sold when I worked at a Autoparts store and we sold truck supplies. I have thought about just rebuilding it too.

Looking at the whole replacement, we don't need that bracket since it bolts right onto the frame. Just want that master cylinder part. but tariff is now playing in the cost...ugh.

Thanks for your input, I will try to get my other half to see it that as a possibly to rebuild.
