Need some guidance - Air Brake Release

During the past two weeks we have encountered a situation where the coach was parked for a week or so. When we aired up the coach and released the air brake, the brakes would not release. We did try and recycle the air brake release. We finally put the coach in drive and move forward slightly. We felt a slight surge and felt the brake release. We had the brakes recently checked and we told that maybe some moisture accumulated in the drum and caused the pad to stick. They said that when you are in a damp, moist climate sometimes this happens. I want to make sure we are not damaging anything when we drive forward. Has anyone else had this occur? If so, is there an easy solution?

I have not tried completely draining the air tanks and re-airing. Don't know if this would be another possible solution.

Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

There have been a few threads on the subject and all I can recall is that some had good luck getting them to release by first bumping it in reverse then putting it in drive. Don't try to "rock" it that could damage U joints or the trans etc. Since it is air pressure that holds the brakes off try waiting till the pressure is at max and cycle the park brake a couple times and see if that helps. When you take it in for routine service ask the tech there about it.
