Shocks

Itís time for new front shocks on my Windsor. Getting about 3 good bounces on some dips and rds. Are the Koni FSDís still the go to replacement shocks? Seems thatís all people are using especially over Bilstiens.Click image for larger version

Yes that pic is from there site. Are you suggesting calling them for other options? Iím not opposed to Koniís but sometimes people just buy whatís being bought by everyone else.

Yes, give them a call. I have no idea if they carry other brands or not. They seem to be knowledgeable and helpful. Perhaps they can give their perspective on your shock questions.

Iíve dealt with them in the past to get a Actia gauge repaired, they seem organized.

Just installed konis from them, fast shipping, answered a question I had right away about leaving the inside washer off , you do when you switch to konis.

Was that something you noticed on your own(being obvious) or was it in the installation instructions?

I had a washer interference fit at one of the front positions on my 08 Camelot. I just ground a flat on the outside circumference. Fortunately ,it was the top washer. I just wanted it to hold the mounting rubber in place.

When Nylock nuts are used on the shocks, I run a tap through the threads so I can install the nuts with my fingers. After tightening, I run a jam nut on next to keep them secure.

Nuts would not go on far enough, the upper boss on a koni is wider.

Ignore my post about the washer, as I have the upper shock mount with the threaded stem, not like the ones pictured above.

I forgot that our coaches used both types. My mistake.
