I use both the Microsoft 800 series and Logitech K series wireless keyboards for my desktop and to write on my laptop. Both in full size. But they do require a USB dongle. They may have something similar in bluetooth capability but it's been a while since I looked.

I had an attached keyboard and case on an old one. But I know they sell bluetooth keyboards for android tablets. My old one was was by Logitech.

Red face Laptop preference

I do wonder how people manage to get much writing done (other than Tweets and twerks) without a good keyboard. I love my laptop and worry someday they'll all go away.... Let us know what you finally decide to do.

And I apologize for inadvertently violating some very good rules...!

Still no movement on that. We're moving things out of coach for remodel and moving into a park model for a few weeks on Monday.
Since were full time this no fun. Lol.

Would love to connect with other RVing writers, so thought I'd jump-start this previous thread. Anybody out there who's balancing travel with writing? Would love to hear how your RV travels inspire or influence your writing.

We're in our twelfth year of full-timing, and I keep finding it challenging to stop staring out the window and focus on my writing.

Plus self-publishing has been more of a challenge lately. For those of you on this path, what platforms or companies are you using? I need to make a change and am open to suggestions about what's working for you!

I know this is an older thread but wanted to chime in. I'm a writer of mostly children's stuff (fiction and non-fiction) but do it more as a hobby since retiring from the Army in 2015. Nothing really big or solid at the moment, but still working on a couple of books for future publishing. I wouldn't say I'm all that serious about it, but I do enjoy it for sure.

Thumbs up Fun is what it's all about

Darren -- Your response is actually pretty timely for me... after starting to take my writing/publishing thing faaarrrr to seriously (again), I've recently started to back off to find the fun in it. I think because I write a series featuring full-timers getting into all sorts of trouble I just haven't been in the mood over the last (Covid-influenced) year to get put them in danger.

Do you share the stories you write with the children in your life? Do they inspire you? Have you written anything for them related to RVing?

Ellen,
I had a book on Amazon Kindle that I recently took down because I want to rewrite it. It got a couple of good reviews but I want to add more to the story. It was a humorous zombie book for kids (an oversaturated market).

My wife has been wanting me to make an adventure/travel story for kids, so we'll see.

What about you? Do you have anything published?

~Darren

I have been writing for decades and have been told I should publish but just never got around to doing it. I do not consider myself an author but a writing enthusiast. Money is not the driving factor for me when writing. The creation of something is what drives me. Writing allows me to escape reality and the world I create when I write is my world to do with it as I see fit. I can venture into anything and everywhere I choose. Short stories and two novels are my focus. I enjoy writing poems when I have writers block. I started writing a screen play based on one of the novels that I have been writing for 15 years now. I will complete it one of these days.

I enjoy reading other new writers and published authors work on “Fanstory.” This website is for creative writing that copywrites your work if you post them for feedback. I have used fanstory.com over the years to get valuable feedback and information from authors who have published.

For those who are not fond of typing Microsoft word 365 has dictation capability. Open word, new document, put your curser on the page then click on the “dictate” icon in the upper right task bar and talk away. Everything you say will be typed. You will need to proof it and run a grammar and spelling check but the basis of what you are saying will be typed out.

I would be interested in reading any poems, Haiku’s, Sonnet’s, Tank’s etc. or short stories that would fit into the website posting if anyone had anything they would like to share.

I wrote user guides for about 20 years and had them translated into seven languages for broad distribution. Other than a couple of contract jobs, I have only written short information guides until recently. I am currently writing a how-to guide on trip planning for RV travel but I have not decided yet how I will publish it or possibly even give it away free like I am doing with the trip and RV maintenance logbook system I created.

For those who do write, you should be aware that the admins here on iRV2 will edit any of your work you post here, changing the nature of your IP and leave your name attached but withdraw your ability to delete it. This should be a concern to anyone creating intellectual property.

Having said that, my post will likely be removed shortly.

I write stories for the joy of it. Random subjects. I post them on my own website, that is about as published as they get. The site is in my signature.

Wow, I just realized how long it's been since I've been on this forum! Links to our books are against the rules, Dusty -- but I'd be happy to send you a copy of one of my books (your choice) if you send me a message and request....

Meanwhile, have you given in to your fiction temptation?

Darren -- Yes, both traditionally and self-published, each an adventure in its own right! How has progress on your revision been going?

I wouldn't say I'm really a writer I love to write and I love doing fiction and nonfiction especially scary stories. But there's one that I could recommend to you that I love. And you can find them on Reddit his name is Will Rayne. And he's if you like scary stories he's amazing. Me I'm not ready to share my stuff yet I'll build my confidence up so now somehow first.

It wasn’t authenticated because it was first published in 1910, when Hemingway would have been 10.
