Our IT "system" consists of two Dell laptops, an iPad, a Nexus tablet, an HP wifi-enabled printer and a Roku plus two Android phones. For the occasional fax that still seems to be needed once in a while I maintain a $10/mo account with MyFax which gives me a fixed incoming fax number.

A deaktop PC can go under the dinette table. The printer under the dinette seat. The monitor and keyboard will take up some space on the table. We take a laptop with us when we head out for months at a time. When we're done with it we close it and put it away, out of the way.

I'm leaning toward an iPad but have never owned one. I'd love some feedback on using Photoshop Elements, MS Office, Power Point, MS Project and Visio. Need quite a few business apps.
Also, what do you do for data storage? External device, cloud, other?
|
I can't speak to the iPad but we use those small thumb or flash drives to store data. They take up no space at all.

What are the best options for a printer/scanner? We plan to scan documents as opposed to storing paper (tax returns, contracts, etc.)
Appreciate the feedback!

It sounds like you really need a small office area in your RV.

We are a small office with the stuff Thom does for his job. That is way we have the Epson Workforce 633 all in one printer thingy. 4 laptops - one personal for each of us, one for work and then one I set up for windows 95 for some old DOS games that I like to play sometimes. 2 smartphones that both have PDAnet on and both still unlimited data for us to use. Oh and another monitor for when Thom runs karaoke and the speakers and stuff that goes with a professional rig. One Ovation guitar and one Rick bass and one little Fender speaker thingy that Thom uses when practicing his bass inside.

We wanted to full-time and have all our toys so we had Newmar build us a coach to accommodate our Macs and printer. The 24" Macs in the picture have been replaced with 27" Macs. Kinda hard to see, but there's a printer behind the coffee cup.

A nice added advantage of the Mac is Apple TV. It's a small box you connect to your TV via HDMI cable, then with one click on you Mac laptop what ever is on your laptop screen is on your TV screen, talk about a big monitor. You can play movies, music, view your photos, all your office documents, etc... all done wirelessly. Your laptop could be in the bedroom and it will broadcast to the TV up front. THis also works with the iPhone and iPad.
