Since you are now working on the dash A/C, this might be useful: https://www.btrac.com/documents/svc-...i-feb-2011.pdf

I put around 4 lbs. of Freon in it. I never could find an exact amount and Denso never returned my Email request. My Escalade ESV take 3 lbs. so I'm thinking I might still be low. I ordered a new set of gauges, these have the screw down ends instead of the pull up style.
In a holding pattern till the airbags arrive.

Unfortunately Denso don't know how much, it's full when gage pressure is good, I think mine took 5 or 6? Lbs, but it's been 4 years since I replaced the compressor, now I have to add a lb every summer, lol, I've put dye in it, used a sniffer but can't find the leak. But it work great for the summer.

I’ll know more when I get my new gauges tomorrow and can read the high and low side. Hopefully there isn’t a blockage somewhere. Going to get a few more cans of freon because you can never have too many. It would be great to get it working.
One time we went to the beach and had the roof air wide open and I was still roasting in the drivers seat, the fans are a help but only so much.

I've taken a small squirrel cage blower and pushed air up to drivers area, that helps, but the thing I miss the most is my pull down shade at drivers side window....mine rotted away.

If you take time to open and read that HD A/C service manual in my hot link. It is so detailed it even has a table showing how much refrigerant per foot of hose for a DP MH.

Sir, I breezed over it and if my calculations are correct I am still low on the charge. My new gauges were delivered today along with the new belt tensioner. I want to see what the high side readings are before I add more Freon. I am going to pick some up tomorrow, the rest of the week is calling for rain so diag time is limited.

The RV service place finally called me back today and I talked to the RV tech about the generator. For them to drop it, replace the water pump and belt, some sensor that is know to go out, clean the spark arrestor and clean all the connectors with parts and labor is about $1800ish dollars. It is still starting and running so very strange.
He also gave me some good tips on getting the dash AC working again. He said 5-1/2 to 6 lbs. of freon and then check the pressures. The expansion valve is more than likely stuck and there is a one way valve on the dryer that sticks if the system sits too long. He said he would replace the dryer and the expansion valve and check that one way valve on the dryer. Those are going to be the items not letting the system work right. Of course check the condenser fan once I get the compressor cycling. He said fill it up and I might get lucky.
It stopped raining long enough for me to replace the serpentine belt tensioner.

Chief, your Genset on a slide out, correct? No need to drop it for water pump, or belt replacement.
I've done it on my same year vintage American Eagle...
With the Genset slid out, the rear cover will come off. It's not a pleasurable job, but ain't all bad.

Mine is not on a slide, I wish it was. I was hoping the front bumper would come off at the belt line but the front clip is one big piece.
I found a Denso parts catalog: https://www.comfortairgr.com/wp-cont...ts-catalog.pdf
I was able to find the part number for the expansion valve and the dryer. I'll get those on order today.

I ordered a new dryer and expansion valve. $147 including shipping. Not bad. I highly recommend: A/C Parts Automotive and Motorhome He was recommended by the RV repair guy I talked to the other day.

Evans-TempCon had a MH chart on their website that listed dash air charge in pounds for motorhomes. Sadly Evans-tempcon filed bankruptcy a few months ago and their website is gone.

The RV tech that is going to work on my generator told me how much to put in, he said average was 5-1/2 to 6 lbs. I am going to wait for the dryer and the expansion valve to come in and I install them before I mess with it anymore. Rain tomorrow and cold temps over the weekend.

Strongly you rely on gauge/PSI readings to determine charge, not some "likely quantity".
