2004 Dutch Star Gauges Issue

Hi! Everyone!
I'm hoping someone can help!!
We have a:
2004 Dutch Star, 38ft
Spartan Chassis,
Cummings 370 Horse.

The Gauges on the dash are NOT working, Except, for the fuel gauge and the air pressure gauges. We've replaced the Speedometer and still Nothing changes.
All gauges and lights work in the self test, But NOT when you run motorhome.
Does anyone have any ideas of what else it could be??

We've been told to check the VCM, but we cannot locate it.? Even after 3 weeks searching.

Any help would be Greatly Appreciated!
Thank you
Kerri

Welcome to iRV2 and the Newmar family

I don't have wiring info for a 2004 Spartan chassis , only 2000/2002.

I'll have a look through for any module that possible feeds signals to the gauges .

Do you know what the acronym , VCM stands for , or were you supplied a picture so you knew what to look for ?

Thank you So much!!

VCM - Vehicle Control Module
We weren't supplied any pictures, so we really aren't sure what to look for.

However, we have been doing more research that last couple of days. And found that it maybe the Mechanical control (not sure if it's called a Panel, Center or Module). We'll be looking for it today. We have an idea where it's located (under the driver's side dash). I think he may even have a diagram.

*Fingers crossed we found our Culprit!!*

I'll definitely keep this thread updated for anyone else that may have this same issue...

Thanks again!

Good luck with your search .

The schematics I have , call the gauge system a " Demultiplexer " and it has 2 " interface modules " so any info I could provide , would not be of any help .

Be sure to post pictures of the module and location .TIA

PM me your email address, I have a wiring schematic for an 04 mountain aire 4301 with a 400 ISL.

Edit*

Don't quote me, but the VDC just might be a freightliner chassis item. A control box with air and electrical connections I believe located under chassis near genset.

I also had the same guage issue you are experiencing. If you scroll down in the Spartan chassis forum a little bit look at my post titled "need spartan wiring guru". It explains the process for fixing mine.
