2007 Dutchstar engine air filter

I just replaced the engine air filter on my 2007 Dutchstar Spartan side radiator. The intake pipe fits up thru a hole in the sprayed insulation in the rear cap.Looks to me that rainwater could get in the pipe.I’m puzzled about this.Anyone done this service?
Thanks,Tom

There should be a rubber "Duck Bill" somewhere in the system to drain any water.

Find it and make sure it's clean and opens easily.

trying to visualize the inlet routing. mine goes in and then up as the filter can is above the top of the engine. unless I have a tornado coming up behind me, rain cannot get to the filter media. the only thing I've ever had in my filter is bugs and dust. lots of dust. not so much bugs.
