2018 Spartan K3 Hydraulic Fluid Change

I need to change the hydraulic fluid in my 2018 Spartan K3 (Newmar Mountain Aire). The fluid type is AW46. Iíve seen posts for similar chassis (but not K3) in which the fluid was pumped out from the top. This reservoir looks much smaller and includes what looks like a drain plug at the bottom? Can/should I use that plug for draining the fluid or is another technique preferred?

Also, whatís the refill capacity? I have the single replacement filter that get installed inside the tank.

Be sure you get all of the old filter out.

Sometimes the paper gasket will fall off the old filter.

Same tank as we used on the Peterbilts for the PS.

Happy Glamping.

So is the plug at the bottom the correct way of draining the fluid, as opposed to pumping it out from the top?

And is the refill capacity limited to the gallon or so in the tank, or do I need more fluid based on draining the fluid at a lower drain point?

Thanks

I replaced the fluid and filter today. Drained fluid using the drain plug at the bottom of the tank and refilled with just under a gallon of hydraulic oil.
