I’ve looked and felt but no grease fittings. A friend with a similar year Spartan chassis says that his has fittings.
Any suggestions?

Installed grease fittings on the ball joints today. First time it aired up, it was quiet as a church mouse. No pops, no creeks, no cracks!

I bought these front HCV's from Spartan, they listed two different part #'s for the front HCV with different prices, the ones I received appear to be identical between the left and right so if any one is buying some, just buy two of the cheaper ones.
The rear ride height is 8.5" from frame rail to center of rear end housing...the weld joint.

IMPORTANT ... while the front HCV's look the same, they work as the opposite. They are left and right.

The "early" ones (from what I have read / researched) had a stud that the shock slid over and a nut held them on. Think, old chevy rear shock attachment for years.
They found that you could not remove the shock without taking off the tie-rod as you needed several inches to slide the shock off the stud. So, somewhere along the line the studs were replaced with a bolt ( I believe it's 5/8" diameter), spacer and yes a nut on the backside of the control arm, which is what
mine has. The subject is referenced back on post #28.
I hope that answers your question.
