I can't remember the years involved or if it is only related to K2 chassis but I had my 07 Essex in for service and they wanted to check the tax axle bearing clearance, it should be between .001-.005 clearance. They check clearance and if was within specs your fine-end of story. Most of the time the clearance is within specs or the plastic lube cover would have melted from the heat in a short time. Well my coach with 14,000 miles had .000 on the driver side bearings. They pulled the wheel and found the bearing and spindle had gotten hot enough to discolor the spindle and the bearings. Spartan authorized the bearings to be replaced. Just though I would pass it on.
