Leveling valve replacement on K2

I recently bought a used 2023 Entegra Reatta Xl on the K2 chassis. First 4 times I tried to move it after being on the jacks, it took a few tries of up and down on the jacks to get the bags to inflate. I thought it was my fault since I am a newbie but on the 4th trial, a passerby told me my leveling valve was stuck open. So 4 out of 4 did not work.

Last two times, the leveling valve did not leak and it inflated correctly. So 2 out of 2 did work. Any chance that would continue?

I bought a new valve from Spartan and plan to put in on myself. it doesn’t look that hard: 3 nuts, 2 small air lines and 1 larger one with quick connect fittings. The new valve came with a truncated golf tee. Any idea what that is for?

So does this sound right?

1 purge the air tanks.
2 remove the 3 nuts.
3 pop the air lines off.
4 switch the fittings to the new valve.
5 seems like I shouldn’t worry about height adjustment if I put the valve back in the same spot?

What could go wrong?

Also, are the bags supposed to pop loudly when inflating? That happens even when they do inflate the first time.

Thanks for any help!

That passer-by gave you incorrect information. If all air springs are not inflating, that points to the dump valves, there is one for each axle. These are 12V solenoid operated valves, if they do not receive a 12V signal to close they remain open.
I have experienced that "not inflating" thing a few times. It happens when the manual dump button is pushed.
Always use the auto-level function, otherwise the HWH system sort-of forgets to close the dump valves.
To correct this use the auto-level function, allow it to complete the cycle, then push store. The air springs then should inflate normally.
