New starter and now electrical issues

I would like to thank everyone willing to help out.

The triple check solved the problem. bpu699 mentioned 6 wires to the starter. Like Count Dracula on Sesame Street I began counting wires. Sure enough I was missing one. I found it tuck away exactly where I put it to install the new starter. What can I say, operator error. I did learn a lot more about my "vintage" DS.

Very appreciated with all the support I got.

Thanks for wrapping up your post , glad it was a simple ( although frustrating ) fix.

Did the wiring correct the signal indicators on ?

Did you ever find the Newmar , aux ignition relay ?

The sheet in the pdf I sent ( 1882-GG5-001 ) shows that everything in the picture you posted from under your hood was chassis related ; and I'd like to know where Newmar put the aux ignition relay ( on a Spartan chassis ) in case another member needs to know .

Starter and electrical issue resolved

Yes Skip, with the starter ground cable I forgot and tucked away resolve all the electrical issues. As bpu699 had mentioned, there are 3 main cables on the positive (solenoid) and on the ground lug.

Per the diagram 1882-GG5-00, my front PDU is a match. Not sure about the aux ignition relay. Just the two ignition relays.

Well the word on the Monaco forums is that ( the older ones in particular ) are " Snowflakes " no two the same .
I'm thinking that maybe with 3 different chassis and multiple floor plans on the assembly line together ; all with the Dutch Star name plate ; that vintage Newmars maybe the same .

I know that 99 Dutch Stars on Freightliner , underwent a major wiring change Jan, 04,1999 because of a huge change in the Freightliner wiring harness and gauge package that DS on F/L chassis built in the fall of 1998 didn't have .
Took me a while to sort that out ; my chassis is a Feb 99 production , coach completed in March.
In 12 years of crawling , over, under around and through my coach , I'm reasonably happy I've got it figured out.

Safe travels .
