Odessa/Spartan Switch location?

Hi

I have an elderly Odessa 31ft Pusher coach 1992 build year on the spartan chassis. With the GM t.d. power train. I have a problem with the Backup lights remaining on. along with the reversing camera etc;

I suspect the backup switch. however the Only wiring drawing I have shows it as a 2wire connection and implies that it is on the transmission (G-M) I have checked the connections on the tranny and can find only 2 that fit the description neither of which will "turn off" the backing lights when the wiring is disconected.

I know that this power train setup appeared on several coaches (Fleetwood. Rockwood and Safari) about this time. so has anyone knowledge of JUST which or where the backup switch is.?

I have even been told it might be at the base of the Steering column. but that switch appears to only have to do with the Turn indicators.

Pete

Usually on the big units, the switch works a relay to keep the load off the switch. Relay could have contacts stuck. I had dock lites coming on and off when it was in storage and the relay was mounted upside down and got water in it.

spartan 35' rockwood

the wire feeding my backup switch is yellow and on the passenger side rear. good chance yours could be pinched/chaiffed to ground shorting the wire.
