I have an '06 Select on the k2 chassis. Other than monthly "exercising" the coach has been sitting in an RV park in Texas for the past 3 months. The other day, I moved it 2 sites to a new location. This morning, I noticed a liquid running from under the coach. Further review showed that it was dripping off the exhaust pipe right before it goes into the muffler. The fluid is petroleum and appears to be golden in color, just like new engine oil or for the lack of a better description, 3 in 1 oil. Being aware of several coach fire incidents, this has me nervous. Any ideas?

20 gauge: More info is required.... engine type, hydrallic systems, coach type, leveler types, ect.

Possibilities could include hydrallic fluid from fan drive motors and power steering systems. If you have HWH levelers and there is really HWH fluid in them then it is clear, otherwise it could be the color of automatic trans fluid...red. Are you sure it's not diesel, which is golden, but has a distinct smell.

20 gauge, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. Congratulations on the new Select. I really like the Trave Supreme. I am sure you will like both it and the forum. You will find we are a group of fun lovig RVers that like to help each other where we can. By chance did you top off the hydraulic resevoir with the jacks down? If so you have over filled it and when jacks were retracted the resevoir overflowed. Good luck and take care.
P.S. I have put a short cut to the New Member section.

I don't know the layout of your chassis but if the hydaulic filter head is in line with where your finding the leak then look to it. It is a known failure point due to porosity in the aluminum filter head casting. The color of the fluid would close to what you describe.

Chassis is K-2, 500 Cummins, Equalizer leveling. Although close to the color of diesel fuel, the viscosity and odor are disntinctly not diesel.

Also, what started as a relatively minor leak yesterday morinig was a torrent this morning. All leaks are concentrated on the right rear, between the muffler and the center of the tag. Coach has not been running since the 27th of Dec.
