Operator Error

Heading home from the west the coach quit charging. The 12 gage wire (exciting wire) to the alternator lug broke. The wire broke at the ring wire connector. The first thing I did was to disconnect the batteries. Started to take off the nut on the stud-- SPARKS I found that I had missed turning off the shore power.

I've searched for the fuse, any ideas?

2001 Newmar Kountry Coach, 4084 on a Spartan Mountain Master Chassis.

thanks

Guessing here, but since you were on shore power, checking the inverter/converter for a tripped breaker may help.

That sense wire may go to the battery and have a fuse near them.

If you have a battery isolator, that sense wire may go to it, with a fuse nearby.

And when I was young I liked Easter egg hunts.
