Recall Notice: TRW Power Steering Pump

Received written correspondence today from Spartan in the form of a Important Safety Recall - 16V-676 advising of defect to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2017, K3 model motorhome chassis manufactured between Marc 22, 2016 and July 28, 2016 and equipped with a power steering pump supplied by TRW.

Called in and was informed the recall notice is a preliminary notification wherein I was advised to call a Spartan Chassis Service center near me, inform them of the recall, provide my VIN# and that the service center will contact Spartan to obtain more information on what is needed. In that it is a preliminary recall and may not affect every Spartan K3 chassis manufactured within the date range indicated, Spartan is requesting that the service center take photographs of the TRW power steering pump including the pump S/N and sends them to Spartan wherein they will further advise both the service center and the coach owner (myself) if the recall is applicable to my coach.

Now have a appt, this Friday to bring the coach in so they can inspect and photograph the installed PSP. Will update outcome in a later post.
