Rough riding 2017 Dutch Star 4369

Am I the only one who finds this coach rough riding? We drive the lousy California highways a lot. I find that this chassis finds every bump in the road. Is it the shocks?
Our last coach a 2005 43 ft Monaco on a 10 bag Roadmaster chassis was quite a bit softer ride. I could hear the bumps in the road but hardly FELT the bumps. Am I the only one?

Have you got your four corner weights and adjusted the tire pressure , according to tire manufacturers charts.
That's the best place to start.

Hi Skip
The front tires came from the factory with 125 lbs. I reduced the pressure to 110 lbs which is what I ran in our former coach. No Change at all. I have not weighed the coach yet.

Stretch,
I hope you have found a solution to the rough ride. If not, check the ride height of the MH. The load leveler might be set for a higher ride than what is specified for your MH. The load leveling valves are easy to adjust to give the proper elevation for the weight of the coach. However, if they are set high, you probably will never put enough weight in it to make it adjust. My MH has one leveling valve in the rear and two in the front. There are specific measurement marks on the chassis for determining the correct setting. Contact Spartan for the procedures and measurements.

Thanks for all of the help. We have a few more hours behind the wheel since my first question. I now realize that the coach is sprung well for normal roads. The rough ride happens when we go over bumps in the road. It is a cabinet jarring ride at that point

Weight makes no difference to the air suspension. Set it to factory specs and it'll be the same loaded or not.

We also own a 2017 Dutchstar 4369 that had the same problem you have described. We attended the Spartan Owners Academy this past May at Spartan HQ in Charlotte MI. At Spartan, I expressed my concern about the ride, and they suggested that the front stock Bilstein shocks be replaced with Koni shocks. This sounded like a good possible solution to me, so we paid Spartan to replace the shocks. What a difference!! Parts Cost (2 Koni shocks): $413.98 Labor: $120.00 Part #: 99B 3234
