Spartan 2002 MM Chassis - air system
I have had one significant and a few so far minor issues with the air system on my 2002 MM Spartan chasis. I called Spartan support and they forwarded the two attached images.
On the left image I currently have an issue with the '3 way solenoid', lower center. Does anyone have any information on how this operates? It is definitely electrical.
It is shown as taking air from the secondary tank and transfering it to the dump valves. The dump valves have tags, DEL, PILOT, and SUP. Does anyone have information on what these mean?

From a quick look.
DEL= delivery (from the leveling valve to the rear air bag tank)
SUP= supply (from the air brake system reservoir tank)
I'll look for info about "Pilot "and the 3 way solenoid.
EDIT: I've gone through the wiring schematics I have for the 2000/2 Spartan MM chassis and can't locate an electrical connection to the 3 way solenoid.
RE-EDIT: I have this pdf for the Spartan suspension although the document number is different, it appears the same and fills in a couple of gaps that appear in the image you've posted.

Spartan 2002 MM Chassis - air system
Looks like the dump valves are pneumatically operated from the 3 way valve. The pilot is the pneumatic input that signals it to dump. Either air pressure causes it to dump or vise versa can’t tell for sure.
If there’s wiring to the 3 way valve, then it’s electrically operated from a switch probably near dash.
What is the issue you are having, the bags wont dump?

Thank you both.
Skip, your diagram is much cleaner than mine. It is much easier to use. Thank you. Do you have more?
Jon, I have a leak somewhere that I believe is associated with suspension. I am looking to function to help track down how to search for it.
Additionally the passenger side solenoid on the 3-way has a small leak between the plastic electrical connection and the metal body. I believe it may be 'cracked'.

Spray bottle with soapy water is your best friend, if suspension first place id spray is air bags then lines etc..

Dan, I have these two that I've collected over the years for Spartan chassis.
One is for manual gauges the second for electronic.
I didn't include them in the first post with the suspension diagram because of the obvious differences, to the image you posted.
Hope they're of some help.

That "3-way solenoid is powered/moved by 12V on each end of the valve. It's name is a Norgren valve(bottom left corner of drawing). It supplies air to the air springs.
Spartan sent you 2022 drawings, this drawing is exactly like the compressed air plumbing on my 1999 MM chassis.
The second drawing is from a different MH brand and is also a MM chassis

Thank you for the input on the Norgren valve. The passenger side of the electrical connection is 'loose'. Are repair kits available for these? I suspect I will have to 'remove' it; that will offer a closer inspection. It also creates the risk of making it worse. This will take a few weeks to get to.

I've never had one apart, so can't comment.

Follow up to this thread. Does anyone have the electrical drawing for this part?
There is a switch on the drivers console that appears to have two actions. Is it reasonable to assume these are connected to the solenoids?
If they are fused does anyone know the fuse location? (The coach is a 2002 National Tradewinds LE.)
Thanks, Dan

Dan I think my Norgren valve is controlled by the HWH leveling system. The push button panel has a manual dump button, when the jacks signal all are fully retracted the dump valve closes via the control box to direct compressed air to the air springs.
If I manually dump the air springs, shut down the motor, then start motor again, the air springs will not inflate because there is no signal from the control box that jacks are already retracted.
To get the system back in sync I must push the auto-level button 2x, then allow the system to level. Then I can push store, the jacks retract sending a signal to the control box, which closes the dump valve and Norgren valve.
