We are discussing the plastic overflow tank, not the metal expansion tank that has a 7# radiator cap.

Mackwrench, you bought the one with the metal basket to hold the tank, I bought the stand-alone Dorman plastic tank, they must be different sizes.

The OEM Spartan plastic overflow tank was the same shape and1G size, sadly it was it too poor shape to attempt a patch.
The new tank will arrive Friday next, all I have to do it drill N tap it to accept the 1/4" nipple and install.

I'm not certain why you'd need a gallon of coolant expansion...Attachment 265582Attachment 265583
I have a front mounted radiator 22 gallons of coolant lol....

Sorry about that, there used to be a picture.
Anyway this is the 5qt tank(picture from USplastic.com website) I bought, then installed that black hose adapter. Being too big is not an issue, being too small was an issue.
