Spartan MM Steering Drag Link Dust Boots

Our, new to us Providence, which is on a Spartan MM (I-beam front axle) had a pair of rotted away dust boots on the drag link ends. I looked far and wide for tips on replacing them but came up empty.

However, in my search, I did come across www.suspension.com in which I found they offer a variety of universal boots.

After removing the drag link, I took some measurements of the factory link pin. Found the pin was ~1.1", the base at ~2.25" and the height of the boot was ~1.5" (the height was just a guess as the boots were fairly well destroyed). Thankfully, both link pin joints were as tight as can be....no need to deal with those

I found that on the Suspension.com site, they offered a Prothane #191828 universal boot with a measurement that was smaller but "close". So without a choice of options, I ordered the pair......super inexpensive!

The fitment was outstanding!
Now, while the pin and base fit fantastic with the drag link off of the motorhome, I quickly noticed that as I was tightening the nut, the boot pushed beyong the base of the link. However, to my suprise, this still made for a very good seal. I have a high level of confidence that these boots will keep grease in and dirt out.
