Spartan Service Center experience

We just left Charlotte, MI after our first year service. The suggested safety inspection found a bad dump solenoid and a couple of other air leaks. They also found a coolant leak and even a none operating marker light. All of that was corrected under warranty along with having the usual oils and filters changed. Now we are enjoying the ride Spartan is known for. Charlotte is a nice town with a downtown worth experiencing ( restaurants, barber and beauty shops, etc.). Our thanks to all of the Spartan employees for their expertice--especially Andy, our service technician. :

We were there earlier this year. There is a place to park your RV and hookup if overnight stay is required and a boot camp offered at certain times. Very friendly staff. There was no Cat mechanic on duty though when we were there.

Slightly different experience, so far. Had an appointment for 7 am this morning. 11:30 and still sitting in the lot waiting for someone to come out to get the MH. I hope the service goes better than the missed appointment time....

I am assuming you have gone to the office and they have provided you with some kind of update on backlog. Did they give you an ETA for a tech to be there?

I've been there twice and I had a similar situation this year on the first day. Now, to be totally fair I was a week late from my original appointment because of an unplanned hospital stay in KY but they worked hard to get me in. That being said, once they got me started, there was no stopping them except for getting parts. Each following day they were there bright and early.

What happens is that previous customer's coaches took longer than expected. That can be caused by parts delays or additional work added to the order. They will try very hard to get first in to be first out. New appointments can slide because of this but from my chats with other customers I haven't heard of anyone experiencing more than a day's delay. In my case, like I hope yours goes/went, we were a few hours into the day. Considering the delayed arrival, I'm good with that.

Just an update, yes the service went much better than the missed appointment time. We went for the 44 point inspection plus a few "concerns". They took the coach in at 1:00 and was completed at 5:00. No surprises and they resolved a couple things that I was not aware. Interesting that each and every person who had an appointment at 7:00 was told the delay was the result of "older" coaches needing more attention that initially thought. At least they are consistent in their response.
Overall we are happy with the work and folks at Spartan we talked to.
