Spartan turn signal replacement kit
Hi Folks,
Greeting from New Zealand. Huge RV culture here and growing fast!
I have a 1993 (old I know) Rockwood Ebmassy RV on Spartan chassis.
The turn signal, high/low beam switch needs replacement.
I have been to Spartan but struggle to get a reply currently. I have tried a few wreckers and dismantles in the states, NZ and Australia, but no luck.
If any one out there has any clues!??
Nick

Greetings! This is the stalk/lever for turn signals high/low beam headlamps, and windscreen washers right?
Here is a list of RV surplus and salvage companies in Canada and the U.S.A.
Of those, Visone RV parts claims to be the worlds largest used parts company, Colaw RV parts is also very large.
RVchassisparts.com is another possibility. If they do not have an OEM replacement, hopefully they will know of one that will substitute. It's likely they will require the VIN for your chassis(not motorhome VIN) to match a substitute.
Not on topic, I still have my wool sweater from NZ from 40 years ago.

I forgot about my experience. My turn signals, cruise control would only work intermittently when we bought our MH. I bought a spray can of electronics cleaner that said it was safe for plastics, spray into the steering column beside the turn signal lever while working the lever up/down. It helped a lot, but I had to repeat the process 2-3 more times before everything worked correctly.

hi! thanks for the links. I like the idea re the electronics spray cleaner. I'll give that a try tomorrow. I recall years ago with a car I had an awkward electrics issue and the cleaner stuff worked well... like it...
Hope the jumper gives you another 40 years!

On my 2002 Spartan Chassis twice in the last 10 years I have had irregular turn signals. The first time my repair guy fixed it the second time I did. If you remove the plastic steering column cover the turn signals are activated by a little disc. The disc was loose in my coach causing irregular contact when the lever was moved.

Hi paul,
Thanks for your feedback. I'll have a look at that later. I took the covers off last night and sprayed contact cleaner through it. The parts looked solid. I'll rip it apart again, looks easy just a couple screws and plugs for wires etc.
Todd from Spartan has been intouch. $124 for new kit. Will have a play tonight and order part if needed.
Happy RVing out there!
Regards
Nick
