I am <span class="ev_code_GREEN">green</span> with envy.

I have the Howard Precision Steering System on my signature coach. It performs the same as you have describe the TRW system. The Howard System has a dial for sensitivity and a manual trim button. Making those automatic with the TRW system is a big improvement.

If Newmar would just make the coach I want I'd be right there with you.

Gary, with the "make what you want" mentality at Newmar, what could you want that they won't do?

Another floorplan possibly?

There's an Essex just like mine at Howard's.....when I pulled in at midnight I was REALLY confused as I thought I was already there!!

I know a member of this forum that asked Newmar to make a BUNCH of mods and he's waiting for his coach right now....

Maybe call Ken Williamson and ask?

Before I bought my signature coach (late 2004) I asked Newmar (through the dealer) if they would put bunk beds in any floor plan. Newmar said no. I purchased my signature coach in August 2005. This is my first Newmar. All previous coaches have been Winnebago's. A few months later Newmar announces the AllStar. Hmmmmm, okay the bunk bed sacred cow has been killed. I go back to my dealer and ask them to have Newmar put bunk beds in any coach with a tag axle and 4 slides. I do not care about which Brand/Model. The longer the better. Newmar has said no.

I like my coach. The floor plan is the next best thing to what I really, really want,,,,bunk beds.

What about the Alstar 4154? This is a good start, but for someone who has owned coaches since 1978, I know what I want. Like the TRW steering system (I have had a steering system on every coach I have owned), one piece windshield, hydronic system, etc. There are some other requirements that they already provide, but the big ones are mentioned above, bunk beds on a tag axle with 4 slides.

What the Howard can't do is provide lower steering efforts, wither at low speed or high speed. It always makes the steering system work harder by providing additional load on it.

Hi Ken,
What you say is true if one was to leave the Howard System set at the same pressure all the time. I do not do this. I use the Howard System for highway driving. When in a CG, fuel stop or any low speed driving it is turned off or dialed to a very low pressure.

This is why my OP mentioned how I like the TRW system for automating the trim and pressure regulating. It would be nice to have the items I do manually to be automated.
