The wife is thinking she wants here own bike. Time to get her inrolled in a MSF course to see if thats whatshe wants o explore!
I've never had real fear while riding. Until Angela started riding. Not that she's bad, technically she's got me covered, but it's that whole watchful protective thing. When she told me she wanted to ride first thing that went through my head was every close call I've had.

It does pass though, and it's cool to go riding together.

Colorado

We are planning a week-long trip into Colorado from NM. Basing for a few days in Buena Vista, will give us a chance to check out Pikes Peak and some other day trips. Then to Grand Junction for a couple days....then ending up at the rally in Paonia....

Looking forward to it.

The wife rides and I too share what you have said about that....I'm constantly in my mirror to see if she really saw that rock, etc....but it sure beats riding two-up.

Ride safe

Here are some dates and places as best we can project them:

7/20 Ride around Utah
7/23 Paonia CO, Great BMW Rally plus others bikes welcome. Tent/sleeping bag and a great beer tent
8/7 Arrive in rapid City, post-sturgis and stay for a week or so.
8/21 Omaha for relatives
9/10 Bend Oregon , window repair and explore
Oct 15 begin slow journey to Eastern CA or Yuma for winter. Close to Mt Polamar(?) for rides on the S7 and S6 and sea world
Let me know if you will be close. More detail to follow.

Leaving 7/20 for 4 days, basecamping in Morro Bay and riding Big Sur.
Then onto Solvang for 3 days.
First trip trying out the BMW F650GS, farkled out with Autocom, GPS, CEE Baily, handguards, wind deflectors, tank bag, vario topcase and 1 tooth down on the primary gear. So far, I love this bike.

The March of Dimes is putting on a ride to Hoodoo Ski Resort to raise money on Aug 29th. The ride originates at Cascade Harley in Bend, Doyle's Harley in Eugene and Salem Harley in Salem. There will be a BBQ and live music up on the mountain. They have a website bikersforbabies.org

Have sold the K12R and purchased a ZX10R. Will pack it up tomorrow and head for Paonia CO for a BMW rally What a weight difference. I have about 25 miles on it. Pretty bike overall.

Roger that, especially exuberant corner exits.
My litre bike served me up a thin slice of traction pie last January.
Spun the rear tire and highsided me at 90; wasn't pretty...

Congrats on the new bike.

Yup, I hear you about traction. Not a happy thing to high side. I had a Hyabusa before the Beemer so have a sense of rear wheel slip. Thanks for the warning tho. Will be gentle for now anyway due to break in.

My next "event" will be the ZRXOA (ZRX Owner's Asso) rally in N GA on 9/10-12/2009. The Skeenah Mill Campground is where most folks camp/lodge. Rides from there cover some of the BRP, Cashiers, Highlands, Franklin, Fontana, Deals Gap and the Cherohala Skyway.

Locally, I took out my "new" 2002 VFR today. Great combination of comfort, torque and handling. Gotta park it though and bond with my ZRX1200 and get myself tuned up before the rally. Been practicing 12OZ curls for the evening campfire bench-racing sessions.
