2006 Mirada back-up camera replacement
looking for any advice on how to replace the back-up camera.
i removed the camera itself and the cable seems to go to the driver's side.
in the front, above the monitor, the cable goes to the corner of the ceiling. i can hear it going along the edge of the ceiling by the wall but i don't know how to get up there to try to get to the wire itself. there is a good place to do it in the lav, inside of a cabinet. i can get a spacer behind the edging but it doesn't separate. should i pry the ceiling instead??
also, do i need to rewove the exterior plastic facia where the camera is located? it has a few plastic rivets holding it on to the back wall exterior.
the excess cable is in the front so that leads me to think (yes, i ASSUME) it would be best to pull the new cable from the back to the front, though maybe? it would be better to pull the small plugged end on the new cable regardless of the direction.
ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. (yes, i'll take it to my rv guy if i can't gitter done.) thanks, wynn 8^)

Why do you think you need to replace the rear camera cable? Did yours quit? Monitor quit? I've replaced quite a few where the new camera and new monitor just plugged in. And there are adapters for camera cables if needed.
Pulling a cable through the entire roof is quite a project. I'm assuming you are going to try and attach the new cable to the old and pull it through? Might work but I would test the cable first and try and find a new camera and monitor that uses the same connections.
The alternative is to use a wireless camera and monitor. Your old camera harness probably has a 12v power leg in it.

You need to contact RVCams in Baton Rouge. He will tell you what to do.
