2006 Sportscoach Cross Country 376DS

Hello,

I am newbie here, and maybe should be asking this here. Anyone have any history with the 06 Sportscoach 376DS? Am looking at one to purchase with only 15K on odo. Coach is in excellent condition, always stored inside. I am also looking at '08 Bounder 38L. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Is there a Coachmen forum in iRV2? Country Coach yes, but I haven't found anything for Coachmen other than Forest River, which purchased Coachmen and runs it as a separate business unit.

For the OP, our 2011 Sportscoach has been fairly good to us. We had a dash air problem (compressor) and also suffered a failure of the fan clutch that left us stranded and having to get towed. This failure is well known on Cummins ISB and Freightliner chassis combinations. Beyond that it's been as reliable as gravity, and I have no worries about our two upcoming long trips this year. I keep the fuel, oil and air filters fresh and it starts well, idles smoothly and returns good mileage. I'm not deeply familiar with your other option, but when you take a look at the number of parts and sub-assemblies that are common to both, I think it will likely come down to considering the best floor plan, favored decor and overall best condition. A nice clean interior seems to indicate good maintenance down below.

Good luck with your choice. Maybe you can drive them both, as that might be helpful.

I own a 2008 Sportscoach and have been very pleased with the unit. The plus is that the 06 is pre emission unit.It has the Cummins 5.9 it is pretty reliable (some issues), same engine used in pick up trucks, so plenty of parts and knowledge out there. Interior wise like any other coach. If you are handy you can fix pretty much anything, as I have.

we have an 06 and love it.
50,000 and hardly a bump so far , had a slow leak in a front air bag to be replaced and a sensor on engine for pollution control of some kind, less than $50 part,

My friend has the 377ds, and I have traveled with them considerably. In two winters of traveling, the only problem he had was a blown alternator. The 5.9 is pretty bulletproof I think. One issue he did have, was his counter top and table were not a solid surface like corian, and the edges started to peel a bit after a few years. He has replaced the counter top, although I haven't personally saw it yet. It is a fairly big rv at 40 ft., and quite comfortable to ride in.
