2014 Georgetown GT3

I'm referring to a 2014 Georgetown GT3, I'm trying to figure out what is producing a knocking noise coming from the area under the steering area near brake pedal. I'm sorry that I don't have anymore information. This Georgetown belongs to a friend who just purchase this rig. Any other comments on the track record for the Georgetown GT3 would be appreciated. Thanks

Common on the F53 chassis. The cause is excessive clearance in the brake pedal bushing. This can be verified by putting the left foot under the pedal and pushing upwards during the harsh bumps that cause the noise.

A partial fix is to remove lateral slack with packing material such as felt or soft rope that will fit snugly against the pivot point and the fixed portion of the mount without interfering with the pedal travel or affecting pedal return.

Do this with care, and at your own risk.

Messing with brake systems has obvious dangers.

The best fix would be replacing the components with those with proper tolerances.

Good luck with that.

Tell your friend to research the ever evolving information regarding the Ford F53 chassis, and the "peculiarities" inherent in it. Lots of reading to give him a head start on his new "hobby".

Noise fro front end

Thanks for the reply. The noise became loader as they traveled and they took it to a RV shop and found out that all the bushings on the driver side front end were in of repair and some were gone and metal to metal was occurring. They were headed home where forest River will be taking care of issue. Luckily they still have 30,000 mile left on warrantee. Thanks again on your reply. I'll let them know about the potential problems with the areas you described. THANKS.
