Alabama Forest River Owners Group (FROG)

Hi All,

New to irv2, but a long time Forest River owner.

Wanted to let you all know that we are forming a Forest River Owner's Group in North Alabama. We aim to be all inclusive so if you want to attend a Rally and live in OR...come on down

I am in contact with Forest River Leadership and they are willing to support our Rallies. We hope to have our first "big" on in early May 2014

In order to get things going, I would like to have a pre-rally planning meet n Greet October 24-26 2014. If you are interested in attending, please let me know!

The CG is family owned and they will offer PA & GS discounts before and after the rally if you want to arive early or stay longer. Here is more info and how you can contact me:

WHEN: OCT 24-26 2014
WHERE: Mill Creek RV Park, AL
- Mill Creek Park Homepage

If you would like to attend, please send me the following info:

Model of your RV

Please provide the same to me

Let's Get Ready To Rally!!

Bob

P.S. Here is additional information the CG Owners sent to me:

We have 25 sites and specialize in clubs your size. We can definitely accommodate 10 - 15 and still have a little room for others.
All sites are 30 & 50 AMP with water and sewer. 20 of the sites are pull thrus. WiFi is available at no extra charge.

Television reception is poor. Cable is not available in this rural area. Those with satellites need to bring them along if football is important to them.

We have 3 DirecTV hookups for those who want to bring their receiver but do not have a portable dish. There is a $2 extra charge per night for these sites.

Oct 23 - 25, 2014 has not been reserved by anyone else and we have tentatively penciled you in for those dates.

We are a little different from most other privately owned RV parks.
First, we are in a very remote location. The closest stores and eateries are 3 miles away. The grocery, dollar general, bank, and other eateries are 5 miles away.
There is also an "antiques and collectibles" store and an art gallery in Elkmont (3miles) for those who like to browse.

Everything else is going to be 12- 15 miles away at a minimum. We do not have a "camp store" nor do we sell ice. There is just not enough demand.

Our motto is "We sell peace and quiet." Our frequent visitors love it but those who "like a little action" may be disappointed.

There is no playground nor swimming pool. We do have a beautiful rock bottom creek and are located next to a "Rails to Trails" which is 12 miles long.

There is also adequate space for walking, biking, running etc in the park. There are two bathrooms in the pavilion (enclosed shelter) available to guests.

Migratory bird watching in October should be good. Deer and turkey sometimes wander into the trees near the RV's.

There should be some good "fall scenery" for those who like to drive and look at leaves.
We have a privacy gate which we lock in the evening. Everyone is given the gate code when they check in so you can come and go as desired.

The enclosed shelter seats about 45 at tables. It has a full kitchen (stove, sink, refrigerator, microwave, coffee makers, counter tops)

There is a wood stove for heat if it is cold at night. You can request that we have a satellite receiver available for the group (there is a TV) at no extra charge.

RV club rate is $26 per night. Our regular rate is $32. There are no other discounts for RV clubs because there is no additional fee for the shelter.

If club members want to arrive before Oct 23, we will honor other discounts. However, senior, Escapees, military, AAA, & Good Sam are all $26.

All rates are for 2 people. Each additional person is $1 per night. We also ask that RVers pay $1 each for "visitors" they may entertain while here.

Our telephone # is 256-732-3686 if you need to contact us directly.

We live on site and this is also our personal phone altho we answer "Mill Creek Park" during business hours.

Thank you for contacting us. We look forward to hosting you either this October or some other time.
