Red face Awning strap

If your roll up the strap inside of a motorhome awning, how do you get it out again?

You will need to get two ladders and pull the arms from the top on each side. Once it is unrolled enough to see the strap, hook it and pull it on out.

The strap is long enough so that the end with the loop on it is sticking out below the awning so you can hook it to pull it down which pulls out the awning

I would unlock the awning, and pull the awaning out by hand making sure both arms come out together if not pull a little and walk to the other side and pull that side out to match the first side, a helper is best for this project. hope this helps

Thank-you very much to all of you. I will get some help to unroll the awning or else get another strap and slide that in and see if this method would work.

I have been able to stand staddling in the doorway and reach up and start the awning to unroll by hand from the middle. Soonest the strap emerges use your awning rod to bring it on out.

Go to your local RV shop and get or order a longer strap. Mine barely sticks out. I make sure when I roll it up that my hook stays attached all the way. That seems to keep it sticking out.

That is what I do too. One time my awning locked as I was rolling it up. I left my awning rod in the strap and borrowed another awning rod from a neighbor and used it to unlock the pin so I could finish using my rod. I never did let go of the strap with my awning rod just in case it decided to roll up by itself.
