Berkshire XL Owners
How do you like it? Price seems very good compared to motorhomes like Newmar and Tiffin. How well is it built? MHSRV seems to have the best prices.

looked at them at RV ONE in orlando. The finish work was embarrassing and the salesman could only say we can take care of that. So that leaves what you cant see and one has to wonder if they think thats ok what in the world is the behind walls like. One of my careers was construction repair for the fubars of professional contractors. The berkshire was pathetic and the tuscany next to it was
Drop down a couple years and move up in quality to a better unit.

I guess you get what you pay for. We may just look into a 2012 Tiffin Phaeton or a Newmar Ventana.

there is no brand that doesnt have issues ; just make sure the previous owner did their homework and took care of them. Remember on the forums you will mainly see the unhappy owners ; the happy majority are usually silent. The search feature is your friend.

You can go to just about every make/model and find comments both bad and good.
All I can say is I've had several fifth wheels and camped with many class A owners and compared to most of the fifth wheels and a few of the class a's, the Berkshire XL that I bought is very fine. Construction is solid and luxurious. I can't speak for RV's I haven't seen.
Go to the berkshire group ( http://www.forestriverforums.com/forums/f112/) and ask actual owners of it. You'll get much better feedback there.

We traded in a 2007 Tiffin Zephyr (what a piece of crap!) for a new 2014 Berkshire 400BH and could not be happier. Of course some of the finish work is a little less than our old coach, but all in all... LOVE IT. We were considering at Tiffin Phaeton, but loved the Berkshire's floorplan better. And all of the items I wanted were extra $$$ upgrades in the Phaeton were standard in the Berkshire.

It seems crazy as we all go back and forth after problems with one brand and then go another direction.

While it may be true that "all RV's have issues" I sure can't find any complaints from the Newmar Forums! Since we are going to the Tampa RV show I have been doing some 34-40 ft. RV research. Either the Newmar people are REALLY happy or they don't post on IRV2! Unlike some of the other RV manufacturer's forums that are nothing but complaints! Maybe the people that manufacture Newmars know how to build them right!
Maybe more RV buyers should stop letting RV manufacturers off the hook by excusing poor build quality with the phrase "all RV's have issues". Why should they "all have issues"???? If you pay $200,000.00 for a new Ferrari you don't expect the door to fall off, why should you accept poor build quality on an RV???
