Smile Bunk Bed not Working

Hello! I'm fairly new at this but here goes. I have a question about our Georgetown GT5 34H5. We recently purchased this MH and really like it. Unfortunately it did not come with a lot of information regarding where things are located, etc..., unlike our previous 2005 Monaco DP.
Our overhead bunk bed appears to have blown a fuse. We lowered it and made the bed up as we're taking off for Michigan this weekend. We're taking a few friends along and they're going to sleep on the overhead bunk. After making the bed and raising it up to the top, it stopped working completely. I think it's a simple blown fuse but I cannot locate it and really don't want to go through all of the fuses in this thing to try and find it.
Does anyone know where the fuse might be located in this unit for the bunk bed? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much

Not offhand. Did you remember to un-do the "seatbelt" that keeps it from falling down? It has a switch inside it that disables the electric controls when it's connected.

I used to forget to disconnect the seatbelt when we first got our 34H5 so I figured I'd mention it.

The key is supposed to be horizontal (just in case).

I'm actually not sure where all of the fuses are. I know the 120 VAC breakers are located in a panel on the foot of the bed. There's also another panel there with a bunch of fuses. The fuse labels are on the door that pops off. Push on the large breaker door and then you can open it. Put something like a coin on the bottom of the vertical fuse panel cover and pop it off

Seven 15-amp, one 20-amp, two 5-amp, one 30-amp and a relay. Slots 8, 12, 13, 17 and 18 appear to have nothing in them per my picture. Unfortunatey none are labeled "bunk bed".

I wonder what "RS Forward", "Furnace Refer", "CS Forward" or "Vent AC" mean. The three vent fans are DC so what does "AC" mean? <sigh>

Do you have a 2019.5 version with the touchscreen controls? If not you may not have those panels.

Bunk Beds Not Working

Hi Ray and thanks so much for your reply and the pics. I learned where more of my fuse boxes are located

Good news is that I did locate where the fuse is for the bunks. It is in the battery compartment located outside by the door. You will see an in-line 15 amp fuse just behind the chassis batteries. Take the black cover off and pull out the fuse.

Long story short, we put an egg crate mattress on top of the pad that's already on the bunks. When we raised the bunk back up, it blew the fuse. Lesson learned was if you add a more comfortable mattress pad, remember to not go all the way up and stop just short of reaching the top.

Anyway, hope you're enjoying your GT5 34H5! We really like ours so far. It rides well and has everything we need. BTW, let me know if you ever have any issues that you can't figure out. We're constantly learning new things about it. I may, or may not, be able to assist. It's always nice to have someone to bounce things off of when you have the same unit (RV).

Thanks again and wishing you the best Jedd

Glad to hear it and thanks for the info. We've had ours for two months now and we're also very pleased. As you've already noticed, just throwing out a random post usually gets you an answer or answers.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out Georgetown - Forest River Forums

Your iRV2 login will work over there as well and I would think you're more likely to get a fast, correct, focused answer from there. I frequent both because iRV2 is great for more general information regardless of the manufacturer.

Take care,

Ray
