Bunk Fans, It's HOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTT

Good evening,

First off thank you for allowing me to join the forum.

I am a newbie RVer. I have an Alta 2800 KBH travel trailer and we love it!!

One thing we have experienced is the heat in the kid's bunks, it's super hot.

We are looking for a little help and advice on what fans or cooling methods anyone has used to overcome this issue (or make it better)

I have two 12V USB outlets available in the bunk area. We have run extension cords to power some 24V fans but after a few drinks and walking in the dark to the bathroom we have decided losing two teeth is enough so are looking for an alternative.

Thank you for your help.

Edit: I looked at the specs and pics again and see that it is ducted, but when I look at the main area, I see just a couple of openings and the main AC opening. And, that may not be nearly enough duct opening to efficiently cool a trailer of that length. I really hate to sound negative....but I think it could be a major issue. But, post a bit more information and you may be able to get some help.

I took a look at some pics of that model and it looks like it is just a bad layout for the bunks i.e. they are in a small area without any decent ventilation. Is your AC ducted and if so, are there any outlets in the bunk area? Aside from using bigger fans (120 volts) may be the only option. A floor fan placed near the television and pointed towards the bunk area may help in pushing cooler air into the bunk area.

I hope you can figure out a solution as it really hurts to be happy with a new RV and then find out you have a major problem. Good luck!
