Check engine light

We have a 2022 Coachmen Mirada 29FW with 2200 miles and a check engine light that has to do with emissions. Earlier it had something about "check fuel valve". Apparently, this is a common problem with Ford products! Our gas fill door has no "gate", just a straight tube for the gas nozzle. Anyone have this problem and how did you solve it without taking it to a Ford Truck Service (A regular Ford Service Center will not look at it) and we have to leave the RV at the Ford Truck Service 2 months before they will look at it (they are that far behind). Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure about the "Check fuel valve" wording and how did you come to find it?

Many vehicles have a "Check Fuel Cap" light. It is there to avoid using the dreaded "Check Engine Light" when the likely cause is a loose gas cap.

If that is the case, check your fuel cap. It needs to click at least 3 times on tightening. Take a peek underneath at the fuel filler lines / hose to the tank for loose connection. Tighten any hose clamps.

You can stop by most large auto parts stores and they will scan any codes for you at no charge. Let us know any codes found.
