Coachmen: 2013 SportsCoach Cross Country Windshield crack!

So we have a 15 month old SportsCoach. The windshield has developed a non-impact crack starting in the upper left (looking at the coach) and growing down towards the center.

Working with Dylan's RV to see if Forest River will assist with this. I hope so... But we'll see.

Coachmen told the dealer "no dice".

They want $4900 just for the windshield. Another $500 to ship it and $600 to install it. $6000 for a windshield on a rig that is 15 months old.

You just lost a customer Coachmen, and I will be sure to let everyone that asks about my coach "how I like it".

Question: Did you contact your insurance agent? Mine also developed a crack and it was replaced by insurance as it might have been caused by road debris even if it doesn't look like it.

Coachmen: 2013 SportsCoach Cross Country Windshield crack!

I don't have glass coverage. I specifically declined it earlier this year when I switched companies after a substantial rate hike. (Insert the head banging smiley here)

Some state (Mass and a few others) cover glass under the comprehensive with 0 deductible. Virginia is not one of those states.

I was able to get hold of the glass Mfg (Guardian) and they can supply the windshield for $1100 and it's about $750 to have it installed. That price is for installation in Tampa Fl.

Looks like I'll have to plan a Florida trip soon.

Still sucks having to shell out 2k on a "new" coach.

You might want to check with your insurance agent. I don't have glass coverage either and I just had my windshield replaced under my $1000 deductible collision coverage.

I'm amazed that glass isn't covered under comprehensive or collision. I'm blesssed that in Kentucky glass is covered under a zero deductable since it's a safety item. I had to replace mine about a year ago after an encounter with a rock on a Ohio interstate.

I had the same problem with my 405FK. I had my coach at Dylan's RV for some repairs after purchase. When I went to pick up the coach and started to do a walk through of the repaired items the service manager Scott said oh by the way your windshield is cracked. I had a crack at the base in the center running up about 1/4 of the way up the windshield. When I dropped the coach off it was not cracked. Forest River did not cover Dylan's did not cover and I had to turn over to my insurance company for repair.

But that is not were the story ends when I went back to pick up the coach and inspected the windshield the rubber surround was not tight against the windshield there were gaps and it looked like a real slop job no attention to detail. They had to remove and reset.

So I guess what I am saying is the buying experience at Dylan's is great the service is lacking if I were you I would go to another place to have any work done. I have been waiting for two months to hear about my rear air-conditioner that has already been replaced once and still does not work properly. They supposedly have a call into Domitic wonder how long it takes to get an answer. I was just there yesterday trying to track down Steve the owner and get some answers.

I have a 2008 Coachman with same problem, Crack is due to improper installation. At the center bottom of the windshield, there is no gap between the frame and the windshield. This created a stress that cracked the glass. Neither Coachman or the dealership (Motorhome Specialist) were any help.

Funny, you might have run into us doing the same thing there! And here I thought I was the only one with a cracked windshield AND the worse service ever from this dealer. Good luck getting anything positive other than a sale out of them. How very, very sad that they choose to operate in such a shoddy manner, year over year. Not the way to build a business or have repeat customers.

BTW, most of the local dealers in this area contract out for windshield replacement. Don't waste your time with those clowns. There are other options.

Good luck!
