Dust and dirt coming in from bottom of slide

Hi everyone. Our new to us FR Georgetown is great, but we wondered; at the bottom of the big living room carpeted slide (on the inside), there is no overlapping carpet that goes from the slide to the linoleum floor, like there was in other class A's that we considered purchasing. (Pace Arrow, for example, had a few inches of carpet overlapping on and over the linoleum floor, creating a bit of a seal. ) Is this something that we could install? Perhaps carpet or a rubber seal at the base? There is an awful lot of black dirt that is on the floor of our living room that keeps coming in on a count of this. Any info would be helpful. Thank you so much. This is our first rv with a slide, and it's all new to us.

Have you checked the condition of the seals on the outside wall and inside edges that butt up to the slide when it’s out? If it’s gone or messed up that could be the reason rather than the carpet inside. That’d keep out the dirt before it came in that far. If I’m understanding you correctly then that’s where I’d look. There is a set of seals for when the slide is all the way in and others for when it’s all the way out.

I gave, thanks for your response. The slide and rubber seals are in good shape; but they are really dirty. I wonder if that might be part of the problem.
