Forest River potential buyer

I am a former Class A Rv'er...just sold it. I am considering a Forest River trailer with a slide and under 5000 lbs. with all available bells and whistles. I am older and want to downsize but want as much bang for the buck max 5000 gvw. Any suggestions?

With that weight limit you're going to be in the 22' to 25' or so, pull behind range... max. So that will limit your choices. Shouldn't be hard to find what FR has in that range.

I would ask at the Forest River Forum.com and I would also look at the Forest River site on trailers. There might be a travel trailer that has one slide that small or light weigth but I don't know of any!

Good luck on your search!

We like our Coachmen 192RBS. The bathroom is tight, but there is another FR model/brand (I can't remember which) that has a larger bathroom, otherwise just about the same.

small yet roomy. We have a Coachmen 2018 nano 193bhs. Like it a lot so far. Should have done the208bhs but we're happy so far. Its under 5K fully loaded. It would be way to small without the slide.
Pulling with an F150 with 3:55 rear 6 speed automatic and 5.0 engine. They are good match. Plenty of capacity to spare. I too wanted lightweight and easy pulling. It is certainly that. the bathroom is tight, workable but tight and there is not a single drawer in the thing from factory!
Otherwise its great.
reasons I want the slightly larger 208 model.
twin axel for better/ smoother ride, bigger bathroom and bunks and most importantly a walk around bed or at least you can either one exit the bed from either side! I can see one of those in the future.
I installed a stove cover like everyone does and built a silverware drawer into it to correct the lack of drawer issue. I must admit I Had to open up the cabinets for much more space by removing the inside panels and cutting to fit and reinstalling them straight(easy) as opposed to the factory slap em in there at an angle approach. I also turned the under dinette storage area into a giant drawer with 40"slides so that is now a giant easy open storage area.
I like the unit a lot but I did do a fair amount of "handyman" stuff to make it as functional as we wanted. The lack of drawers exists even in the larger 208 model for some reason.
otherwise its light, easy to tow and park and deceptively roomy. Oh I almost forgot the Ac works well but is rather loud, geez guess I have more wish it didn't items than I thought. Its a work in progress but a good foundation to start from for us anyway. Good luck and have fun /enjoy the hunt for yours!
