Forest River Salem TT

Hi,
We are looking to downsize from a Class C Fleetwood Tioga to a travel trailer.
Looked at Grand Designs and a Forest River Salem. I loved the interior of the Salem but hearing they're not as well constructed as Grand Designs.

Anyone have a Forest River Salem? Would love to hear your thoughts on these two brands of TT. Looking at staying around 30 ft and around 8,000 lbs. We have a 2020 F150

Thanks!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Grand Design, they are owned by Winnebago, and my understanding (no personal experience) is that they are quite well built, but of course cost quite a bit more.

I do have personal experience with a 28’ Forest River Salem (helped my daunter buy one because it’s what she wanted) and if I had to pick one word to describe it, that word would be “fragile”. It had several issues when new, and started falling apart and breaking immediately, to the point that in two years it was no longer useable due to roof leaks, floor rot, broken interior walls etc. Also the all cheap chinese tires failed prematurely, several in the first year. It was a major disappointment.
