Generator is dead

Question is does the generator get its juice from the house or chassis battery? Not cranking at all. Is there a fuse that could be causing this too?
It’s a 5500 onan on a class A.

Are the chassis or coach batteries dead? If both are not, a fuse or breaker or somethings else In The starting circuit is probably broken.

Normally, the house battery is used for the generator. If it won't turn over, try starting the engine and let it run for a few minutes and then try the genny again.

If both sets of batteries are charged (chassis and house), check your fuses in the generator itself.

Your particular coach may use a different battery setup.

Just my .02 worth.

On mine it was simple — genny no crank - completely dead - from either remote start or on-board start.

Turns out the nut holding the positive power line to the genny had rattled off dropping line off the post. I crawled under and reattached the positive line using a lock washer this time. Genny back to normal.

Look for the obvious....

It cranks off the house batteries. I woul look for corrosion on the wire connctions. That is usually the cause.
