Georgetown with a Steerable Tag Axle?

Just looking for help from anyone that might know of a Georgetown class A MH with a steerable tag axle. No pics, but the tag axle was 4 to 5 feet behind the drive wheels! They were all the way at the back end of the coach. Never seen anything like it and can't find anything online.

You're from TN like me, so I'm betting on a "Billy Ray Tom Bob Parker" home brew add on.

I have to agree with Steve on this. If it was one of the high end coach builders that make their own chassis, it's possible (although I still haven't heard of it) but Georgetown (Forest River) just use chassis straight from GM / Ford (and Freightliner for their DPs) so I can't imagine they'd have anything like that.

This thing does exist. It was parked at Caney Creek Rv Resort in Harriman, TN this weekend. Just looking for someone that might know what it was.

It is the second time we have stayed. It is a nice place. Quiet with good sites. I imagine mid summer the place would be packed and be a different experience, but we had a great weekend in spite of the rain.

With that said, you need to go ask for a tour around the joint and take a pic of that Georgetown the is about 10 - 12 spots into the resort on the left hand side!

Apparently it's not the only one...
Newmar Displays Product, Optimism
The all-motorized RV builder showed an array of new 2014 models.
Newmar, showcased an array of new features and floorplans, including several full-wall slide models and the return of the legendary Detroit Diesel engine brand. The company debuted a 500-hp DD13 version that is available on the $750,000 (retail) Essex Class A equipped with Freightliner SLR chassis.

According to Newmar, the coach comes with a steerable tag-axle and a “Virtual Technician” on-board diagnostic system through which drivers can communicate with qualified tech support when experiencing engine trouble. The Essex is also available for the same price on Spartan chassis.

I wonder if the virtual tech is like the inflatable copilot in "Airplane"???

If that Georgetown is genuine, it may be a prototype / test mule. Auto manufacturers will often take a lower-end model that does not attract attention and put in fancy new stuff "under the hood" to test it out. If it is a test mule, that steerable tag chassis may eventually find it's way on to the high-end FR production models but not the Georgetown.

It is genuine, but dated. The coach was maybe 10+ years old from the look of it. I'm still kicking myself for not taking a picture!

I just returned from a trip to Europe. Many of the tour buses that I observed had steering tags. With the many skinny lanes in Europe that came in handy. The ones I saw were, or maybe I should say apeared to be no further away or closer to the other axle than the ones that I see here that are fixed.
