How to mount Garmin 785 RV GPS
We purchased a Garmin 785 GPS unit for our 2018 Forest River FR3 30DS motorhome. The suction cup mounting kit will not work as the dashboard is texturized and it will not stick. Any suggestions on how to mount the GPS unit so that it stays securely?? Thanks!

I have a similar Garmin unit and I went with a bean bag type mount that I found on Amazon. I then put two strips of self adhesive "velcro" on the bottom to keep it from sliding down the dash while moving. I don't have the name of the mount or a picture handy, but hopefully this will send you in a different direction that trying to attached it to the windshield.
Good luck!

Weighted bean bag for us as well. The one we bought is currently unavailable, but I am sure there are others readily available.

stick on of these down, let it set for 24hrs. your suction cup will work on this. that's how i mounted my Garmin. I have a textured dash as well.

We purchased a Ram mount that Garmin recommended when I called them about the suction cup model that came with the RV 785 not holding up the monitor on ruff roads. The Ram mount is extremely stable and incorporates the charging docking unit.

Yup, the beanbag mount with Velcro under each "ear" does a great job of holding our RV 785 and its camera in place.

The "bean bag" from Amazon is now available. Just received mine, placed it on the dash so the camera on my 785 will look straight ahead as well as hold the it in place.. Much better than the suc-cup

How to mount Garmin 785 RV GPS
The RV 785 has a built-in dashcam so it needs to be above the dash. It's also a whole lot heavier than an automotive GPS.
