Is there some sort of shut-off flap in the A/C
Is there any sort of flap that would close and prevent A/C from sending any air out the ducts?
I had another thread, about my A/C but after 2 pages of assistance and trouble-shooting, I realize I misdiagnosed or rather misinterpreted the issue.
I have been having an issue where the A/C would stop blowing air. Note, still on and you can hear the fan running, and still feel air going INTO the intake in the cabin, but NOTHING coming out any duct vent.
BACKSTORY: We thought it was fixed by leaving the fan in "high" speed mode as there is no "low" speed. We thought it was switching to low speed mode, not finding a low speed fan, and switching back to high speed, but thought in this cycling process, it was freezing. Left fan in "high" instead of auto, and thought that resolved the issues due to in running for nearly two days instead of the usual two hours.
TODAY: I went out, after the A/C has been running nearly 48 hours (without any issue), and it was not blowing ANYTHING out of the duct vents. Just for giggles, I switched to fan mode.. All was fine, in fan mode air WAS coming out the duct vents. So... I switched back to A/C, all was fine again and has been for several hours.
There's no way it was "frozen" and magically "unfroze" after a few seconds of fan only.
The following doesn't make sense to me, but I'll explain it as I see it. "Something happened in A/C mode that caused a flap (or something) to shut off the duct vents. Switching it to fan only and back reset that." Yeah I know, sounds strange, but that's what it is acting like.
Any thoughts on what would cause this sort of behavior? Since the reset, it's been running fine. 84 outside, 71 inside.
thanks in advance.
