We don't unhook to level either with the caveat that the RV and toad are in a similar state. If we're sorta level, we just ground the jacks to support moving the bedroom slide out.
Also depends on what type of hitch you're using. If its a ball hitch tow bar, you'll have some concern with angle if the front of the RV levels out too high or too low. If it's a hitch mount tow bar, you probably have more up/down movement.
Just don't want to bind the tow bar. Just my .02 worth.
