Mini lite windshield protection

My Rockwood 2109S has a windshield in front. I'm wondering if anyone has installed a Clear Bra or another clear film to protect this expensive piece of glass from rock chips and cracks.
What did you use?
is it working well?

Re-Mini lite windshield protection

Let me know if you find a solution. My front window has a giant crack and I need to get it replaced.

That looks like a great option. Thanks Tundra! I never found that one. My google-fu skills must be slipping.

If you're not comfortable installing yourself, most any local window tint shop can install it for you.

One solution

Hi , had the same problem with my 2021 Rockwood 2109s.
First trip took a big hit and destroyed the window. Dealer got 600$
to replace. I am certain a plastic film would have done nothing to prevent
the destruction. Tried a few ideas, but settled on this. 1/16 Lexan cut one
inch smaller than the OD of the window. Held on with two inch 20ml vinyl
pvc tape. This stuff will not let go. My wife and I can put it on in about 10
minutes, and leave it on for the whole trip. Easily peels off, and one shot of
windex and the window is clean. Bonus... several other Rockwood owners have approached me in campsites and ask where they can get the "cool bra". If
I can help you in anyway, just ask! Cheers

Tape

This is the stuff. I use the 2 inch. I think they use this
to wrap and bury pipes underground, forever.
I do put one layer around the window, then a second top layer over that , and trim around the edge of the window. One roll is good for about 2 or 3 trips.
Good luck, hope this helps !

@Bellacamps with Lexan

Why do you take the Lexan off? Why not just leave it on all the time? Looks like a great solution.

My exact thought!
We are taking delivery of a Rockwood next week and this is the only thing that concerns me.
Leave it on sounds like a good solution?🤔

Thanks for this awesome solution! We have a Rockwood 2506s Mini Lite with the large front window. It had to be replaced while still under warranty, but I want a way to protect it while traveling. I think your Lexan idea is brilliant! Where did you get the Lexan and get it cut? And, was it flexible enough to curve with the window or did you need to heat it or something?

Thanks so much!
