Mirada 33s Towing capacity

A friend just bought a new 32SS and was told the towing capacity is 8K. I was always under the impression most gassers are limited to 5k. My 2016 Winnebago 27n is only 5K and we have the same engine except he has a 6 speed and mine is a 5 speed. Am I missing something. Cannot find info on Coachmans site. Thanks.

My 2017 Thor Axis, 6 speed, has a 8000 lb towing capacity. Its built on a E450 chassis.

Just because a rig has a certain capacity hitch doesn't mean it can actually tow that much. The GCVWR tells the total.

Like he mentioned above....

Mine says 8000 lbs with an 800 lb tongue weight.....

But if I want to actually tow that much, it means I have to loose a minimum of 2000 lbs. in total cargo weight.

If you see the picture below, its.... 30k minus 24k = 6k lbs. towing

If I want to tow 8k I have to shed and stay below 22k lbs. to be able to toward reach the max of 30k

2019 brochure numbers:
GVWR: 20,500 pounds
GCWR: 26,000 pounds
Hitch capacity: No numbers

If coach is loaded such that its weight equals the GVWR, then horizontal towing capacity is at most 5,500 pounds.

Hitch rating should be on the hitch. If hitch rating is lower than 5,500 pounds, then horizontal towing capacity is at most the hitch rating.

The coach manufacturer can set the horizontal towing capacity lower still. It should be listed on a label inside the coach, or in the owner's manual, or both places.

If towing a trailer, then vertical forces must be taken into consideration, in addition to the horizontal towing capacity. The actual trailer tongue weight and the actual rear axle weight must be within their respective maximum ratings.
