Talking New 2018 Dynamax Isata 5 hitting the road!

Hello all,
After four years of planning and learning about the RV industry and community, my wife and I are heading to pick up a 2018 Dynamax Isata 5 4X4 DS36 at MHSRV in Alvarado TX. This will be our 1st RV. Initially we thought we wanted a big 45' Class A (Entegra was our favorite), then had eyes for the 25' LTV Unity Flex, and decided to go in the middle for the 36' foot class C. It's been a long journey just to decide on what RV we felt would work best for us. So much to learn about and consider in the decision. But pencils are down and we are taking posession of it on 11/16/17. We purchased the Cabernet color scheme with all the options except for the smaller dual power fridge.

We'll share our experiences here in the near future so others considering this rig can have a good reference for what we learn about it.

Very excited to join the RV community and hopefully meet some of you along the way. We live in Southern California so we'll mostly be around this area given I'm still working a day job. Weekend excursions will be a regular for us around the beach, mountain, and desert areas.

See ya on the road! I've attached a picture from the salesman as our rig hit the dealership from the factory in Elkhard Indiana. We didn't realize they would drive it down. Figured it would have been towed but I guess given the size that's not practical. So it will have ~1100 miles on it when we drive it off the lot.

Congratulations on the new Dynamax.

DW and I started out with a 38ft class A, fould it too big for the style of camping we do. Next got a class B more eqipped for boondocking but its quite small for two of us and two dogs.

So now we're looking at class Bs. I find the Ford E-350/450 cab and seats are uncomfortable and want more tow capacity than a Sprinter. That really limits our choices. We're interested in the Isata 5. Looked at one and drove it

I'm interested in hearing more on your experience with your new coack.

You will enjoy it, that's for sure. We have a Dynamax DX3.

FYI: there is a Dynamax rally in June in Tenn, come and join us.

The info is on forestriverforums.com at the Dynamax thread.

Happy camping!!

Well we've completed our maiden voyage from TX to CA. All I can say is "wow", what a wonderful machine. I'm very impressed with the Ram chassis and Cummings TD. This package is very powerful and both up and down hill excursions were met with ease. MPG was 8.5 on the initial few hundred miles, then increased to 10.2 over the trip. I averaged about 68-70 MPH. Ended up taking some very hilly small roads in San Diego and she handled very easily. Stayed at Hacienda RV park in Austin near Lake Travis (very nice place), then a rest stop in Las Cruces NM, followed by one night at Pala Casino RV resort. That place is a just excellent. She is put away now for a few weeks (indoor storage). Can't wait for the next excursion. No issues whatsoever with any of the systems. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

One additional note, the NM rest stop sleep over was with the slides in and it was no problem at all. We are average sized folks so getting around with the slide in and sleeping on the RV king bed was just fine. We did find the iCool mattress to be a bit hard for our taste. We added a $25 foam topper and it made a big difference. We sleep on a spit king tempurpedic at home so comfort is a must.

Congrats. We were at the factory this past summer and saw these units being built. Good looking rigs for sure. Enjoy
