New Member Class A

Hello RV community, I am Izzy new to RV. My first trip will be in a few days to Lake George for a week. Happy to be here. I have an issue with my 2000 Coachman class A. My Driving AC is not coming out from the vents , only from the front windshield. Any suggestions. Thanks

from WA State!
Sounds like the vacuum controlled diverter valve isn't working.

First ypu need to figure out what part is causing the problem, then if it can be fixed or needs replacing. Could even be as simple as pushing a vacuum hose back into place.

I suspect you have a vacuum leak. The systems are designed so if they fail, they fail in the defroster mode.

On my old Mirada, the vacuum hose came off of the accumulator under the hood, above the heater box. You can read about it here:

Heater A/C blows Defrost mode, regardless of switch setting – 2001 Coachmen Mirada 300QB

ALSO - Another common failure point is the square looking accumulator that's mounted on the chassis rail directly in front of the passenger front tire. It gets a lot of spray and stuff that gets kicked up from the tire and can break and even pull the hoses out of the accumulator.

And of course the hoses are known to break where they come out of the control head and go to the heater box inside the and around the passenger compartment
