Newbie questions

So I got a 17' Prism 2150le about a month ago now and several questions have come up..

1) I'd like to have a propane grill I can hook up to the tank on the RV. Can this RV do that?

2) The outdoor shower port box has small openings forming at the top from the outside, like where caulking is failing. What is the best option to seal this?

3) It has a solar input port on the outside. What panels can I use and what connection do I need?

Sure just like your gas grill at home. Connect a L O N G hose turn the gas on and fire the grill up. If you happen to have a low pressure port somewhere on the RV then you need a low pressure grill. Those are not very good. Your better off buying a 2 gallon propane tank and set,your gas grill up away from the RV.
The outside shower probably has 4 screws holding it to the side of your RV. Take them out, pull the box carefully away an inch or so, using your fingers peal the old putty taps off. Apply a bead of new putty taps, put it back in plqce and screw it down. Using a plastic scraper carefully remove the ooze out. Any RV parts store will have rolls of putty tape. Its cheap and has hundreds of uses around your RV. After a weekmor so of warm weather, again rwmove the ooze out and using Dicor for vertical surfaces apply a small bead around three sides.
Sorry, never heard of or seen solar inputs on the side of an RV. Solar panels are usually hard wired permanently on the RV, with panels mounted on the roof.

What does a low pressure valve look like to hook up to? And the picture shows our propane tank.....any ideas how to hook up to it? I'll look into the screws in the outdoor shower area

Many RVs already have a propane quick disconnect hose installed, mine does. If yours does not, you will need to find a workable spot to add one. Your tank is certainly connected to your refrigerator, RV furnace and water heater. At some point along the piping you can add the needed connections.
If you have a exiting connection, it will probably be a brass fitting on the end of a black rubber hose. It will probably have an integrated shut-off valve in the fitting - lever that turns 90 degrees.
If you don't have an existing place to connect, after watching a walk around of your model, I'd look to adding one near the connection to your range or refrigerator.
FWIW, on my trailer, I use a Blackstone 22" griddle. I connect it directly to the low pressure quick disconnect that is on my trailer.

Regarding your propane grill question.....

I wouldn’t mess with anything propane. You could take your Prism to a licensed propane service and have them see what you’ve got, and where you’d like to extend your line to for your grill.

Propane tanks vary in pressure depending on temperature. Usually 2 stages of pressure regulation are used to reduce for stoves, water heating and such.

Usually long hoses from propane tanks have an initial regulator that prevents liquid propane getting into valves and manifolds designed for gas. An additional regulator is required to proved constant proper pressure to an appliance.

On mine, all regulators and tank switching valves are in one unit. I can tap in directly at the tank, or the low pressure side of the regulator.
What regulators are needed depend on where the tap is and what pressure the appliance, in this case, a camp stove needs. Some camp stoves use different pressures from the appliances in your RV. Some built in tanks have taps installed from the factory.

Safety recommendation are that you employ a trained technician to make any modifications to your RV propane system. Errors can be costly and deadly.

Well, after looking at the pictures, you have a MH with a belly tank. Like I mentioned above go buy a small 2 gallon propane tank, a 6 foot hose with an adapter, take your propane stove and go. With this setup you can place the stove almost anyplace. We used to carry a small folding table that I set at the end of the picnic table with the stove or gas grill on. It would be there all summer when we were camp hosting. My small tank got filled each spring, and that was it. All our dinners and many breakfasts were cooked outside. Never ran out this way.

Does anyone know what sealant was used on the outdoor shower pictured? I need to redo the sealant as its peeling away and water can get behind. Its clearish and I dont think its caulking but maybe im wrong.

can't see it very well.....but it looks a lot like silicone.

It is a silicone. Clean all of the old sealant away. If scraping be sure to use a plastic scraper. Use a marine grade silicone after cleaning the area with alcohol or acetone. I have done this at the very same spot and no leaks or separation noted. Be safe on the road.
