Repack bearings

I have a 2018 Georgetown with 24,688 miles. During my recent forever warranty inspection I was told the bearings need to be repacked but they do not do this type of work and I should take it to a truck center. The unit has had the bearings lubed every year. Is this in fact necessary? Is it based on mileage and time? Sorry asking these questions without the manual in front of me since my A/C compressor just went out. Thank you for your advice.

Not unheard of for the bearings to be forgotten in the rush to get the manufactured unit out of the door and so not correctly packed with sufficient grease. And then end up with a short service life.

I would take their advice and get them repacked as soon as possible even though they were listed as having been lubed every year. I think these are two different things.

I've been wrong before...last time was Thursday. 1998.

Note that a repacking job is with a semi-solid grease whereas a lube is with a liquid. So I'm a bit confused by your use of both terms.

Not only based on miles.. you have to think about the environment conditions.. like driven thru heavy rain or water.. water can work it's way past seals.. then you have dusty conditions.. ect.. better to repack them.. then the many thousands it can cost to replace spindle..
