Riverstone floorplans

We are looking at the riverstone 5th wheel. We are comparing models for the front living versus the rear kitchen. Can you tell me what storage issues you have? How is your bedroom storage? How is your basement storage? Thank you.

We have a Riverstone 39RKFB on order. We seriously considered the 39FK. For us, it came down to the 1/2 bath. The only way we found to really evaluate storage was by watching YouTube videos. Unfortunately the Riverstone models aren't ones most dealers carry on the lot (it eats up too much of their financing budget to have one there). If you're able to find one, go check it out. If storage is an issue, check out the 39FKSG. The back of it is a very large storage area, as in most toy haulers. We were satisfied with what we saw in the 39RKFB. The problem typically isn't storage space, the problem is typically the amount of crap we accumulate.

Some care about this...

The rear of the trailer bounces the most/hardest. So all your kitchen items such as plates, cups, items in the fridge (think eggs), etc will get bounced around more than a front or mid kitchen.

Also if your one that likes to have a lot of 'heavy' kitchen appliances (instant pots, crock pots, big coffee maker, etc) your adding the weight at the extream rear of the trailer so you might need to ensure you add enough weight in front of the axles to counter this... however a 5th wheel is more forgiving than a tounge pull wrt to this. Kitchen items can add up to a decent amount of weight.

One thing I might add. If you're ordering your Riverstone, you might consider getting Independent Suspension. One of the reasons we ordered ours with it is for the exact reason others have mentioned...things get bounced around. I did a fair amount of research on this and came to the conclusion that independent suspension does help with the significant amount of abuse our rigs take as we go down the road. ...just my .02cents.

Going to agree with others that rear kitchens are not good down the road. We had a lot of broken dishes when we had one. Not bad if you are just using it as a park model.

Thanks for the replies. After watching some reviews of the MorRyde independent suspension on a couple of our favorite YouTube channels, I had already decided that would be a good idea regardless of the fiver we got. So I was indeed planning to order our new Riverstone with it and was pleasantly surprised to find that it would be about $3000 less than doing it after the fact.

I'd be curious to know your experiences with fridge and cupboard bouncing as you go down the road, Glen.
